U8 Manhattan Girls Academy Shines In Tournament Debut |
U8 girls Manhattan Girls Academy (above), a newly formed team of current WSSL players, had their debut at the Commack Memorial Tournament. Despite practicing together for only a short time, the Manhattan Girls Academy didn't let the unfamiliar conditions or the lopsided scores deter them and managed to score three goals against Dix Hills Dynamite and New Hyde Park Firecrackers. Helped by Coach Chris Perez's constructive feedback and the support of Asst Coaches Paul McNulty and Greg Manabat at the end of Day 1, the girls were ready to return and face two more tough teams on the second day. Leading from the first minute through almost the entire game, it was oly the last minute that Hewlett Lawrence Attitude managed to even out to a 2-2 tie. Despite being worn down by the tough match earlier in the day, Manhattan Girls Academy finished the day with a strong games against Syosset Timberwolves. A good job all around! |
